Dr A.John Morris is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Hon clinical senior lecturer at Glasgow University medical school and clinical advisor for Gastroenterology to Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board.
His main endoscopy interests are therapeutic UGI, small bowel and pancreaticobiliary interventions and he has been involved in the clinical development of new endoscpic technology such as NOTES and novel hemostatic agents.
He is Director of the west of Scotland endoscopy training centre and has an international reputation for education and quality in delivery of all types of gastrointestinal endoscopy. He has directed several live international endoscopy workshops, linking to China, USA and Europe from Glasgow as well as being ESGE director of live workshops in Belgrade, Cairo and Talinn, Estonia. He is past secretary of the endoscopy section and council member of the BSG and previously board member of ESGE.
He was visiting Associate Professor at the Medical university of South Carolina in 1995, developing advanced endoscopy practice. He has written several original papers, review articles and contributed to national guideline development in the field of GI endoscopy.
